Description
A ‘social battery’ refers to a person’s capacity to engage in social interactions. Just like a physical battery, it can get drained after extended socialising and needs time to recharge through solitude, rest or calming activities. Some people have a larger social battery, feeling energised by interactions, while others (particularly those with social communications difficulties) may have a smaller one, needing more alone time to feel refreshed.
This activity, particularly suitable for those on the autism spectrum educates a young person to identify their ‘triggers’ that drain the battery as well as recognising how they may ‘charge their battery’. Example included.
