SUMMARY:SUPPORTING AND EMPOWERING YOUR ANXIOUS CHILD
DESCRIPTION:‘Anxiety is a thin stream of fears trickling through the mind. If encouraged\, it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained.’\nArthur Somers Roche \nSince Covid 19 we have seen a dramatic rise in young people experiencing anxiety. The daily pressures on our children are increasing from targets and testing in the classroom to the rise of pressure advertising and social media. For many of our children the world\, or certain aspects of it\, is overwhelming\, complex and scary. From separation and social anxiety to performance and health anxiety\, an increasing number of children now benefit from direct support to manage their worries.\nThis workshop will introduce you to the current thinking around children’s anxiety and move onto exploring ways to support young people to manage their anxiety more. Strategy led and with a useful resource download we aim to help you support your child moving forward. Ticket price is per family. \nPARENT REVIEW \n‘I was amazed by how many parents are experiencing the same types of anxiety issues in our children\, made you feel like you were not alone. I have searched the internet myself for solutions but Niki\, the trainer gave us some great techniques and tools to try and recommended resources such as books\, tools and exercises. Also useful is how Niki explained how anxiety affects the different parts of the brain and how this translates into my child’s brain\, made me think of when I really see my daughter struggling with her anxiety.\nTotally recommend\, great value’

SUMMARY:SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD'S BIG FEELINGS - GUIDED PARENT AND CHILD EMOTIONAL REGULATION SESSIONS
DESCRIPTION:DUE TO DEMAND – I am once again running online sessions for parent and child to access our popular intervention together. This also makes content available regardless of geography/location. \nImproved emotion regulation leads to benefits in all areas of a child’s life. Children who are able to regulate their emotions\, pay more attention\, work harder\, and achieve more in school. They are better able to resolve conflicts with their peers and show lower levels of physiological stress. They are also better behaved — and more caring towards others. \nSuitable for children and young people who struggle to manage their emotions appropriately\, show after school restraint collapse\, show physical behaviours towards others and have a negative mindset. \nThis 6 week guided online intervention (for parent and child) aims to \n• raise awareness of self\, including triggers\n• educate about the anxiety/emotional cycle so as to recognise in oneself\n• ascertain understanding of emotions (both in oneself and others)\n• understand the changes in the brain before and during crisis (upstairs/downstairs brain)\n• an understanding of the physical feelings during the overwhelm cycle\n• educate around the optimal time to use strategies for calming\n• develop a range of appropriate strategies for calming and finding solutions\n• understand the consequences of choices (healthy/unhealthy) and develop the ability to reflect in order to learn healthier alternatives. \nAs well as a range of activities to raise self-esteem and develop brain healthy habits moving forward. The resulting information can inform assessment processes\, be used to increase school awareness of the child. Additional resources will also be made available according to need. Email support is available. \nParents will be sent a parent information pack and checklists upon booking. Content will remain live until 31 October 2025 so parents can access to fit in with the family schedule. \nSUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AGE 6-13 years. \nGOING LIVE WEDNESDAY 18 June 2025. Attendees will be sent invitations to join the private Facebook group before 11 June 2025. \nContent will be delivered by Niki Green (in a private Facebook group) via recorded sessions and resource making instructions. Parents will need access to a printer. \n
