SUMMARY:SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD'S BIG FEELINGS - GUIDED PARENT AND CHILD EMOTIONAL REGULATION SESSIONS
DESCRIPTION:DUE TO DEMAND – I am once again running online sessions for parent and child to access our popular intervention together. This also makes content available regardless of geography/location. \nImproved emotion regulation leads to benefits in all areas of a child’s life. Children who are able to regulate their emotions\, pay more attention\, work harder\, and achieve more in school. They are better able to resolve conflicts with their peers and show lower levels of physiological stress. They are also better behaved — and more caring towards others. \nSuitable for children and young people who struggle to manage their emotions appropriately\, show after school restraint collapse\, show physical behaviours towards others and have a negative mindset. \nThis 6 week guided online intervention (for parent and child) aims to \n• raise awareness of self\, including triggers\n• educate about the anxiety/emotional cycle so as to recognise in oneself\n• ascertain understanding of emotions (both in oneself and others)\n• understand the changes in the brain before and during crisis (upstairs/downstairs brain)\n• an understanding of the physical feelings during the overwhelm cycle\n• educate around the optimal time to use strategies for calming\n• develop a range of appropriate strategies for calming and finding solutions\n• understand the consequences of choices (healthy/unhealthy) and develop the ability to reflect in order to learn healthier alternatives. \nAs well as a range of activities to raise self-esteem and develop brain healthy habits moving forward. The resulting information can inform assessment processes\, be used to increase school awareness of the child. Additional resources will also be made available according to need. Email support is available. \nParents will be sent a parent information pack and checklists upon booking. Content will remain live until 31 October 2025 so parents can access to fit in with the family schedule. \nSUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AGE 6-13 years. \nGOING LIVE WEDNESDAY 18 June 2025. Attendees will be sent invitations to join the private Facebook group before 11 June 2025. \nContent will be delivered by Niki Green (in a private Facebook group) via recorded sessions and resource making instructions. Parents will need access to a printer. \n

SUMMARY:POSITIVE APPROACHES TO MANAGING BEHAVIOUR IN THE PRIMARY CLASSROOM
DESCRIPTION:The new Ofsted framework includes a much needed and welcome focus on the emotional wellbeing of learners.  So how can classroom behaviour systems support this\, and work to increase self-esteem and promote wellbeing whist still being effective at preventing problem behaviour? It starts with understanding why problem behaviour occurs and working proactively to promote the behaviours you want to see. \nThis 3-hour workshop for school staff will teach you how to implement evidence based\, effective methods for managing classroom behaviours that will create a positive environment\, promote wellbeing and help develop confident and happy learners. \nParticipants will gain vital knowledge to help them understand why problem behaviour occurs and why commonly used systems are often ineffective\, counterproductive and can be detrimental to pupil’s self-esteem and confidence. Participants will leave with a toolbox of simple\, highly effective\, low cost (and no cost) whole classroom and individual strategies that can be adjusted and applied to learners of all ages. \nYour trainer is Tracy Mapp. \nParking is free if you display a note stating ‘With The Contented Child’ in your windscreen.
